MURPHY, Veronica Ann (DeCoste) - 86, Lower Sackville, formerly of Fox Island, Guysborough Co., passed away Saturday November 27, 2010 in Arborstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home, Purcell’s Cove Road. Born in Grosvenor, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Sarah DeCoste. She worked as a Post Office clerk for several years and also took care of foster children in her home. She was a member of the School Board in Fox Island and a member of the CWL of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. For the past twelve years, she was a member of St. John Vianney Church, Lower Sackville. Veronica is survived by sons, Patrick (Christine), Fox Island; Joe (Debra), Canso; Michael (Linda), Lower Sackville; daughters, Diana (Danny) Ehler, North Grant; Sandra (Lavin) Doiron, Lower Sackville; Monica (Irving) Reilly, Sudbury, On.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick, son Jimmy, sisters, May Mandile, Charlotte Murphy, brothers Anthony, William, Damian DeCoste. Visitation will be 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. today (Monday) in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11a.m. Tuesday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
