We regret to announce the death of our mom, June Patricia MacInnis, of Port Hawkesbury, which occurred on Friday, February 24, 2017, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, while surrounded by her family.
Born on June 11, 1936, in Point Tupper, she was the daughter of the late Ethel MacLean-Knight. June spent her years as a homemaker and raising her family. June enjoyed cooking, baking, and knitting. She also enjoyed playing cards as a pass time, playing bingo and entertaining company in her kitchen. She will be remembered by her grandchildren for her lovely molasses cookies.
June was predeceased by her husband, Francis MacInnis and her infant sons, Brian and Billy. She has 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
June is survived by her eight children, Linda (Sonny), Cleveland; Gary (Ella), Yellowknife; Terry (Brenda), Port Hastings; Robert (Elizabeth); Point Tupper; Debbie, Bernie (Alice), Port Hawkesbury; Donna, Coldbrook; Wendy (Jerry), Port Hastings, sister, Gladys Knight of Port Hawkesbury.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, from St. Marks United Church, Port Hawkesbury at 2p.m. with Nan Corrigan DM officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
