SWAINE, Ruby Moneta - 90, Canso, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Hazel Hill, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Rose (Rhynold) Bennett. Ruby worked for many years at the Canso Fish Plant. She was a member of Canso United Baptist Church. Surviving are her brother, Gerald (Florence) Bennett, Canso; as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thank you to niece Rhonda, for the care she provided to Ruby over the last few years. Also a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, who provided such wonderful care to Ruby while she was living there. She was predeceased by her husband, George; sisters, Hattie, Ethel, Dorothy and Jean; brothers, Lawrence, Calvin, Albert and Russell. Visitation will be Monday, from 6-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from Canso United Baptist Church, with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Fourth Hill Cemetery, Canso. Memorial donations may be made to Canso United Baptist Church Building Fund.
