MACKENZIE, Rodney David, of Little Dover, Guys Co., age 60 years. It is with sadness and heartache that we announce the unexpected death of Rodney David MacKenzie of Little Dover, on Saturday, February 20, 2016 while vacationing in the Dominican Republic with his family and friends. He was born on April 20, 1955 in Canso, a son of the late Wallace and Laura (Davie) MacKenzie. He graduated from the Marine Science Program at Canso High, under the guidance of Captain Bob Noble, which initiated his decades-long fishing career. Rod enjoyed his family and life to the fullest. He will always be remembered for his big heart and generosity to family, friends and community. Rod will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife of 42 years, Priscilla (Boudreau); daughter, Trina Graham (Joe); son, Cory (Janna); sisters, Gail (Wayne) Ashford, Nancy (Gary) MacDonald, Christine (Todd) Ross; brothers, Steve, Mike (Dianna), Stan (Carla Noseworthy); grand-daughters, Haley, Kaitlyn, Madison, Mya and Maria. He was predeceased by son, Dennis, brother, Tim, sister-in-law, Carol Ann. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to take place in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery, Little Dover. Memorial donations in memory of Rod may be made to Little Dover Community Building Fund.
