MacKinnon, Angus Anthony Jr. – 65, Port Hawkesbury. On October 2, 2012 Angus left this world peacefully with an abundance of love in his heart at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. He is predeceased by his father Angus Anthony Sr. and mother, Mary Helen (McIntyre). Angus was a loving devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Angela Elizabeth (Elms) MacKinnon and sons, Jamie W.L. Elms and Luke Ryan MacKinnon. Additionally he will be missed by his brothers, Joe (Janice), Patty (Jeannie); sister, Patsy and his nieces and nephew. Angus grew up in Glace Bay where he worked at the Cadegan Fish Plant. Angus ended his working career with Canso Regional Vocational School. Angus was a well-respected member of his community where friends treasured him for his kind heart and gentle soul. He volunteered his time through his sons’ various sporting activities; be it managing, fundraising or driving to sporting events all over the province. Angus committed himself to his family which was always of paramount importance for him. He is cherished by all who knew him and has left an indelible impression on our hearts. Visitation will be held Saturday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville Street Port Hawkesbury, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, at 2 p.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 138 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury, with Father William Crispo officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
