Kelly, Dorothy - 86, resident of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, formerly of Antigonish and Mulgrave, passed away at the home on Friday, July 8, 2016. Born in Belfast, N. Ireland, she was the only child of the late William and Anabel (Alexander) Colquhoun. Prior to retirement, Dorothy was employed with the Canadian Red Cross, Hamilton, Ontario, as a blood technician. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mulgrave where she was active choir member; she served as a lay reader and a member of the ACW. Dorothy was also a member of Faith Chapter #53 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Royal Canadian Legion Cambrai Branch 37 Ladies Auxiliary, volunteer at Strait Richmond Hospital, and R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home. Additionally, Dorothy was active in pastoral care at Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. She was a member of the Memory Lane Senior Citizen’s Club, Mulgrave and a member of Nova Scotia Federation of Seniors and Pensioners. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Heather, Waterloo, ON; son, Gordon, British Columbia; grandchildren Jessica Whitmore, Kitchener, ON, William Kelly, Victoria, BC; Sarah Kelly, Kelowna, BC. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon W. Kelly, Antigonish; son, Christopher J. Kelly, Calgary, AB. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Mulgrave, with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
