MacKenzie, Gladys Lillian -95, Lesterdale, Guysborough County. Passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Lesterdale she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Lillian (Ross) Sceles. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. In her younger years she was an avid reader and liked to knit and pick berries.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Gerald) Hart, Boylston and Mary MacKenzie, Lesterdale; grandchildren, Jody (Kim) Hart, Terri Hart and Kevin (Christine) MacKenzie; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Connor, Morgan MacKenzie and C.J. and Isaac Hart; nephew, Robert (Ellen) Sceles, NY, U.S.A., daughter-in-law , Doris MacKenzie, Central West River, Pictou Co.; sister-in-law Helen Sceles, Toronto , Ont.; special friend Cameron Cresine. Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Aiken, son, Terrance William, brothers, Fred, Lester, Donald, and Harold; sister, Elsie (Gordon) Cresine.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 30 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Antigonish with Mr. Cameron Cresine officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Gladys may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
