MacKINNON, Dan Charles "Dan Charlie" — 83, Malagawatch, Inverness Co., died at home on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Born in Malagawatch, he was a son of the late Alexander and Mary Ann (Roberts) MacKinnon. Dan Charlie was a retired equipment operator with the Dept. of Transportation. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary (MacDonald); daughters, Ann Marie Johnstone (Albert Mansfield), Port Hawkesbury; Carol Lee MacKinnon, Malagawatch; son, Kevin (Marie Power), Port Hawkesbury; sisters, Charlotte Ross, Tatamagouche; Margie MacQueen, Sydney River. He also survived by grandchildren, Cory (Jenna), Amanda (Devon), Nicole, Brittney and Destiny; step grandchildren, Stephanie (Wally), Ashley, Bradley (Rachael); great-grandchildren, Ceildh, Alexis, Zoe and Kaiden. He was predeceased by his brother, John Alex; sisters, Catherine and Sadie. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with Wayne Yorke, DLM officiating.
