MacKINNON, Maude Isobel … 88, Port Hastings, died Wednesday, March, 19, 2008 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born on Port Hood Island, Inverness Co., she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Fanny (Watts) Smith. Maude was a homemaker and a member of St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings. She was a former Sunday School teacher and former treasurer of the W.M.S. She is survived by son Robert (Geraldine), Port Hastings; several sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Maude was predeceased by her husband Ian Hector MacKinnon, brothers Lloyd, Murray and Roy. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2pm in St. David’s United Church with Rev. Sheldon LeGrow officiating. Burial in St. David’s Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings Volunteer Fire Dept. or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
