PARKER, John Joseph “Jack” - 76, Canso, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late William Ellsworth and Elsie Emeline (Snow) Parker. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces with the Signal Core serving in Egypt and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 46, Canso. Jack was a retired foreman at the Canso Fish Plant and member of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. Jack loved to play guitar and was usually the center of family gatherings. He loved hunting, traveling and gardening with his wife. He loved playing crib with anyone who didn't mind getting beat. He loved fishing with his grandkids, playing darts and playing horseshoes. He loved dancing til ill health and couldn't do it any longer. He always played backgammon daily with his wife. Surviving are wife, Felice (Kolbinskie), Daughters Jacquie Bond, Courtney, B.C.; Paula Nash, Enfield; Kathy (Bob) Mason, Antigonish; Patricia (Klint)Parker-Kemp, Bayside, N.S.; sons, Brian (Donna), Waverly; Dean (Tammy), Courtney B.C.; John, Elk Point, AB; sisters Mary Durling, ONT; Anastatia Parker, ONT; Joan (Peter McLellan), ONT; Rose (Lawrence) Munroe, Canso; grandchildren Robert, Christopher, Matthew, Zachary, Felicia, Parker, Brian, Ralph, Cory, Anthony, Elizabeth, Bryan, Kevin, Darleen, Jack, James, April, Dylan, Joel, Brittanie, and Tiffany; great grandchildren Brandon, Kaitlyn, Riley, Jonathon, Alexander, Rebecca, Alyssa, Dante, Ethan, Ieshea, Justin, Mattias, Kylie and Jacqueline. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson Joseph Bond sisters Florence Nickerson, Patricia Broussard, Mona Osborne; Brothers, Basil and Ralph. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation, Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso or Star of the Sea Parish.
