LAWRENCE, Leonard Garfield - 65, Canso, was called home with the Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 which occurred in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Leonard was born September 20, 1944, in Boylston, he was a son of the late James Arthur and Effie May (Desmond) Lawrence. His sparkling sense of humour put smiles on many faces. He worked for more than 30 years with the City of Halifax. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 23 years, Ada (Mosher); sons, Blair, Norman; daughters, Lisa, Tammy, Jenny and Suzie; brothers, Art, Gordon and Fred; sisters, Bessie Reddick and Clara Ashe. Also leaving to mourn are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and his extended foster children. He was predeceased by son, Leonard and two sisters. Special thanks to Leonard's health care providers and home care. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, in Canso United Baptist Church, with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial at a later date.
