LeLACHEUR, Earl Charles - 72, Port Hawkesbury, died Friday, September 15, 2006 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Port Hawkesbury, he was the son of the late Alfred and Myrtle (Lucas) LeLacheur. He was a retired Custodian of Canada Post, Port Hawkesbury, and was a former employee of Port Hawkesbury Marine Railway. Earl served in the Korean Conflict with RCR Engineers. His home was known as the Do Drop In and his living room was the "unofficial school bus stop" for many years. He is survived by daughters, Myrtle, Barbara, Darlene (Bruce) Higgins; son, Dennis (Kim Bilozer), all of Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Shayna, Matthew, and Brian. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Janet Darlene, and son, Earl. Visitation was held Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. today in St. Marks United Church, Rev. Wilfred Pelley officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
