LAYDEN, Dr. J. Murray, M.D. - Mulgrave, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Elgin, N.B., he was a son of the late Michael A. and Margaret A. (Morgan) Layden. Murray was a graduate of St. Thomas College, Chatham, N.B. (1950), St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish (1953), and of Dalhousie University School of Medicine (1958). He practiced his profession in Mulgrave for 30 years until retirement. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (MacDonald) Layden; sons, Michael (Cheryl), Mulgrave; Murray (Susan), Enfield; John, Calgary, Alta.; sister, Helen Layden, Moncton, N.B.; grandchildren, Blake and Kendra. No visitation. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, Father Donald R. Layden C.S.C. and Father Konstanty Pruszynski officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery, Sheet Harbour, at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Murray may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
