Munro, Nellie Normena "Norma" Born March 19, 1934 died June 16, 2020 Whycocomagh, Inverness County It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/wife & grandmother Norma Munro. Born in Margaree Harbour she was a daughter of the late Leonard & Etta (MacNeil) MacLennan. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bobby; her daughter, Connie; grandchildren; Robbie, Marissa, Heidi (Matthew), and Erin (Michael) and her great-granddaughter, Hannah. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Horton along with her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Norma is predeceased by her son, Gregory; brother, Tom and sister, Mary. Norma was a lover of music and was always found with her radio on in her bedroom; she enjoyed listening to anything from rock to church hymns. She belonged to the Inverness County Singers for years and treasured every minute of it. She loved babies, children, and all the visitors that would walk through the door. Norma could be found sitting at the kitchen table, phone in hand or reading the papers. She especially enjoyed Halloween night when she would get to see all the kids of Whycocomagh who stopped in for their treats. Norma was a very thoughtful and kind woman, and thought so much of her grandchildren and treated them as they were her own. Norma was best known for her cooking; she cooked at Vi’s Restaurant for 35 years before her and her husband Bobby opened Norma’s Diner which was known widely for their Sunday Buffets. She was so loved and will be missed so dearly. In keeping with the Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
