Myers, Evelyn Blanche (Taylor) 1919-2014 Age 95 of Riverside, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday August 25, 2014 in High-Crest Nursing Home , Sherbrooke, N.S. Born in Cooks Cove, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late James Burns and Martha Blanche (Myers) Taylor. Predeceased by her husband of 44 years George Myers as well as sisters May and Hilda and brother Harry. Surviving are twin daughters Deanna May (Scott) Henry, Guysborough and Donna Blanche (Bruce) Bailey, Eastern Passage as well as nieces and nephews. To age 29 she dedicated her life to her Mom and Dad, then married, went West to Luseland, Saskatchewan where for 20 years was devoted to wheat farming life. In 1969 the family moved to N.S. where she lived for 43 years on the Riverside, a year and a half at the senior apartments, then 5 months at High-Crest Nursing home, Sherbrooke.She was a lifetime member of Port Shoreham UCW, active in Bible Study group, organist for many years for five points of the Eastern Guysborough Pastoral Charge of the United Church and Milford Haven Nursing Home in Guysborough. She will always be remembered for her special sense of humour and quick wit, her generosity, love of music, family and friends, scrabble, quilting, shopping and her amazing musical talent for the piano even playing for the residents and staff of High-Crest. She was a devoted Mom, wife and friend; devoted to family and her church. Her spirit and energy live on in the lives of everyone she touched. There are no words to express the appreciation for the genuine love and compassion shown to our Dear Mom from all the staff at High-Crest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday, August 31, 2014 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be held in Boylston United Church, Boylston at 2pm Monday Sept. 1, 2014 with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough.
