MOLLON, Alan Leslie -64, Port Hawkesbury and formerly of Sydney, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Leslie and Mona (MacPherson) Mollon.
Originally from Sydney, he began his career as a Chartered Accountant and continued to practise as a self-employed accountant after moving to Port Hawkesbury.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Wilma (Bulley) Mollon after his long and courageous battle with cancer. He is also survived by his son, William Mollon (Rochelle), St. Theresa’s Point MB; daughters, Elizabeth Smith (Bruce), Stewiacke; Catherine Mollon, Dartmouth; Diana MacIsaac (Michael), Antigonish; as well as 5 grandchildren, Kristian and Haleigh Hemmings, Sackville; Jeremy Smith, Stewiacke; Teghan and Braylon Mollon, St. Theresa’s Point MB. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Rebecca Smith in infancy.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St. Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney. In lieu of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
