MacLENNAN, Frank "Lester" – 90, River Denys, Inverness Co. We sadly announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Lester was born and raised in River Denys, the son of the late John Angus and Effie MacLennan. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas in the Canadian Army. He was a retired mechanic with Georgia Pacific in Big Brook. Lester loved spending time with his granddaughters and hearing about their activities. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor, lively wit and many stories. He was very social and loved visiting. He enjoyed a good game of cards and listening to Cape Breton fiddle music. He was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys, Sircom Lodge 66, Whycocomagh, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123 Whycocomagh. Lester is survived by his son, John (Lynne), Port Hood; daughters, Carol (Keith) Urquhart, Wilburn; Beth (Mike) Zorychta, Cole Habour; sister, Mabell LeClair, Ottawa; grandchildren, Shannon, Jenna and Ella MacLennan, Port Hood; step-grandsons, Adam Zorychta, Cole Harbour; Rory and Jordan Urquhart, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Arlene (MacPhail); parents, John and Effie; brothers, Clarence and Ernest; sisters, Barbara Kennedy, Elinor and Betty. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9p.m. Monday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11a.m. Tuesday from Forbes United Church, River Denys, with Karen Ross officiating. Burial in Fir Grove Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
