MALCOLM, Albert Joseph "Allie" – 65, Grantville, Richmond Co., It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce his passing on Friday, February 8, 2013, at home. Born in Port Hawkesbury, he was a son of the late Albert Seth and Mary Bernadette (Hartling) Malcolm. Allie was employed for many years with Williams and Simpson Pulp Yard. He volunteered at the Riverdale Recreation Field where he looked after the grounds, mowing the grass and such. Allie also mowed around the church, cemetery and ball field in Lower River. Most of all, he enjoyed life. Surviving are his wife, Marlene (MacKay); daughters, Laurel, Dartmouth; Amanda, Surrey, BC; son, Kenneth, at home; sister, Bernadette (Gary) MacNeil, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Fred (Charlotte), Bernard (Mary Theresa), both of Grantville; grandchildren, Ashton, MJ and Sasha; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Norman and John. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11am Thursday, from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants, with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of Nova Scotia, or a charity of choice.
