MacLennan, John Harold "Jackie" – 78, Whycocomagh, Inverness Co., Passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Little Narrows, Victoria County, he was a son of the late Alex J. and Lena M. (Hadley) MacLennan.
Jackie was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh. He was a retired linesman, from the Telephone Company.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret (MacKinnon), daughters, Irma (Dwayne) Punch, Monastery; Laura (Ian) MacDougall, East Lake Ainslie; Jacqueline (Darren) MacIntosh, Valley; sisters, Ethel (Steve) MacDonald, Sydney; Anne MacAulay, Aberdeen; Eileen (Walter) Matheson, Little Narrows; brother, Sandy (Ginny) MacLennan, Sydney; grandchildren, Alissa, Ryan, Grace, Teressa, Andrew, Rylee. He was predeceased by an infant son, sister, Margie Nymark, brothers, Kenny and Gordon.
Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Burial in Little Narrows Cemetery at a later date.
