McCALL, Gordon Percival – 88, Mulgrave, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Steep Creek, Guysborough Co. he was the son of the late William and Mabel (Hayden) McCall. Gordon was a lobster fisherman. He also worked at Acadia Fisheries, for the Town of Mulgrave, as well as custodian at the Royal Bank, Post Office, Manpower Center and the Eastern Counties Regional Library. He was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave and the Mulgrave Fire Dept. He enjoyed bingo, gardening and playing cards. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Lillian; sisters, Patricia, Rhoda and Carrie; brothers, MacKenzie, Russell and Bill; stepson, Danny Stewart. Surviving are his son, Doug (Nancy), Havre Boucher; grandchildren, Chad and Katie of Havre Boucher; sister, Emily, Boylston; twin brother, Fred, Mulgrave; step-children, Yvonne, Phonix; Joyce, Riverview; Isabel, Melford; Glenda, Oakville Ont; Billy, Monastery; Neil, Port Hawkesbury; Russell, Halifax; as well as 17 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends, Darren and Robin Keeping and family. Special thanks to Guysborough Home Care Workers, Mulgrave Fire Dept. and St. Martha’s Hospital. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 20, from 2-8 p.m. in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral Mass will be 11a.m. Monday from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place, or to Mulgrave Fire Dept.
