MacRitchie, Violet Murdell “Tooty”- 87, Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck formerly of Bucklaw, Victoria County passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Bucklaw, Victoria Co. on November 26, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Angus Joseph and Carrie Ann (Matheson) MacRitchie. Tooty was an adherent of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her brother, Kenny (Pat), Whycocomagh; nephews, John (Ingrid), Toronto, Ont. and David (Cathy), Pictou; grandnieces, Annie, Kristen and Margaret. She was predeceased by her sister, May MacRitchie. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck with Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Burial in St. Patrick’s Channel Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Tooty may be made to Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck or Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
