O'LEARY, Winifred Leona "Winnie" - 64, Canso, died Thursday, December 7, 2006, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late James and Flora (Richardson) Smith. She was a member of the Star of the Sea Parish and worked at the Hazel Hill Rest Home as a nursing assistant for over 20 years. Surviving are her companion, Louis Horne, Little Dover; sister, Lynn (Michael) Childs, Hazel Hill; brothers, Jim (Linda), Clarence "Carnie" (Juanita), John "Doey", Stanley "Huck" (Judy), Cecil (Theresa), all of Canso; Norman (Pam) Smith, Bedford; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by husband, Reginald "Reg"; brothers, Lawrence and Carl. Visitation will be held Monday, December 11, from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Winnie may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
