ROSS (Matheson), Jamie Rosalie, wife of the late Donald Fraser Ross – Age 96, Little Narrows, Victoria Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Aberdeen, Inverness Co., on April 12, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Dan Frank and Katherine "Katie" Flora Matheson. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1945 and nursed in Inverness and Sydney after graduating. She was a member of Little Narrows Ladies Aid and a life member of W.M.S., as well as a member of Little Narrows Presbyterian Church. Left to treasure memories are her daughter, Catherine Jane (Floyd MacKinnon), Ashfield; grandchildren, Erin Sampson, Fort McMurray; Matthew Sampson (Shauna), Baddeck; Shannon Sampson (Brandon Hart), West Bay; great-grandchildren, Ethan Hart, Maddox Sampson, Rowan Sampson; brother, Frank (Anne), Aberdeen; sister, Mary Asaph, Baddeck; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews that were very dear to her. She was predeceased by sisters, Mabel Matheson, Christene Cameron, Harriett Morrison, Jonena MacLeod; brother, Leonard; brothers-in-law, Norman Cameron, Andrew Morrison, Douglas MacLeod, Wilfred Asaph; nephew, James Matheson. Special thanks to Dr. Ritter, Cathy our nursing care, Zelda, Stephanie and Marilyn and all our homecare girls. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 12 – 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Little Narrows Presbyterian Church and from where funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with Rev. Andrew MacDonald and Rev. Lydia McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Little Narrows Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
