Scott, Lenora Grace age 73 of Port Hawkesbury formerly of Middle Melford, Guys. Co., passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Antigonish she was a daughter of the late Martin "Marty" and Lillian (Hadley) McKay. Lenora worked as a cook at the Petro-Can Restaurant, Irving Big Stop in Aulds Cove as well as the Barn Restaurant in Guysborough among others, she also worked at the fish plant in Mulgrave, and did private home care in later years. She loved to play cards and attended any card play that she could. Lenora also loved to dance, bake and enjoyed walking the track at the Civic Centre. She loved to socialize with people over a good cup of tea and loved a good country side drive. Lenora is survived by her daughter, Angel Scott (Corey Skinner), Port Hawkesbury; sons, Joseph "Joey" Scott (Mary Anne Crant), Steep Creek; Frederick "Freddy" (Wanda) Scott, Truro; sisters, Lina Scott, Steep Creek; Donna (Kevin ) Mattie, Fall River; brother, Douglas (Ann) McKay, Aulds Cove; grandchildren, Morgan, Melanie, Eric, Shelby, Jarett, Brady, Gabby and Troy. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Edward; sons, Eddie and Eric; brother, Kenny McKay and brother-in-law, Marvin Scott, Sr. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish and Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney for the excellent care that was given to Lenora during her stay. There will be no visitation, at Lenora’s request. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, in St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Middle Melford. A reception to follow in Mulgrave Fire Hall.
