Pertus, Jeremy Michael – age 17, Port Hawkesbury. It is with great sadness and grief that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Jeremy on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Born in Antigonish, on September 28, 1997 he was a son of Michael and Ginette (Gaudet) Pertus. Jeremy was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury, a graduate of SAERC "Class of 2015" and worked as a cashier at Dollarama, Port Hawkesbury. He was looking forward to attending NSCC - Marconi Campus in the fall. He enjoyed walking the trails and doing family things together. Besides his parents, Jeremy leaves to mourn his brother, Jason and his service dog, Heart, at home; maternal grandmother, Rita Gaduet, Shediac, NB; special grand aunt and uncle Pat (Pat) Pertus, Petit de Grat; uncles, Arthur Pertus, Dartmouth; Rheal Gaudet, Quebec City; Guy (Patsy) Gaudet, Moncton, NB; Bermont (Debbie) Gaudet and Roger (Jeanette) Gaudet both of Grand Barachois, NB; aunts, Odette (Emery) Breau, Grand Barachois, NB; and Dianne Gaudet, Shediac, NB; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parental grandparents John and Flora Pertus and his maternal grandfather, Gerard Gaudet. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 27 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 138 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
