POULETTE, John Noel - 55, We' Koqma'q First Nation, died Monday, April 17, 2006, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late John W. and Mary Rose (Herney) Poulette. John was a bus driver and carpenter. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, We' Koqma'q, and the Mi' Kmaq choir. Affectionately known as 'Uncle John', he did a lot of volunteer work singing at concerts and benefits. He was also an avid hockey and baseball player. Surviving are his wife, Dolena (Googoo); daughters, Naomi Poulette, We' Koqma'q; Amber (Theodore) Johnson, Kelly Stevens, both of Eskasoni; sister, Christie Ann Googoo, We' Koqma'q; brother, Alexander 'Pico', London, Ont.; grandchildren, Theodore, Jennay, and Joy. He was predeceased by an infant brother. Visitation at the family residence, 144 Subdivision Dr., We' Koqma'q, after 4 p.m. today. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
