POULETTE, John Noel - 55, We' Koqma'q First Nation, died Monday, April 17, 2006, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late John W. and Mary Rose (Herney) Poulette. John was a bus driver and carpenter. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, We' Koqma'q, and the Mi' Kmaq choir. Affectionately known as 'Uncle John', he did a lot of volunteer work singing at concerts and benefits. He was also an avid hockey and baseball player. Surviving are his wife, Dolena (Googoo); daughters, Naomi Poulette, We' Koqma'q; Amber (Theodore) Johnson, Kelly Stevens, both of Eskasoni; sister, Christie Ann Googoo, We' Koqma'q; brother, Alexander 'Pico', London, Ont.; grandchildren, Theodore, Jennay, and Joy. He was predeceased by an infant brother.
Visitation at the family residence, 144 Subdivision Dr., We' Koqma'q, after 4 p.m. today. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
