It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Ellen Sampson (nee Carter) on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at her residence, Richmond Villa in St. Peter's, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Marlene MacPhee, Sampsonville; Judy (Blair) Mombourquette, L’Ardoise; Kelly (Chris) Callbeck, Hampton N.B; Gerald, Slave Lake, Alberta; Colleen (Paul) Mombourquette, Lantz; Bertha (Richard) Owens, Lantz; Gerard (Pamela), River Bourgeois; 21 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren; her sisters – in –law, Joyce and Lila Carter; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted homemaker. She loved music especially the concerts at Lakeside School and she loved to Jig tunes for the children to dance.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Theodore; her parents, Willie Joe and Bertha; brothers, Murdoch, Joe and sister- in- law, Odille; brother, Gerald; sister, Catherine and Mary Evelina in infancy and son- in- law, Joe MacPhee.
We would like to thank the staff of Richmond Villa for the compassionate care she received while living there. She will rest in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 26 Centennial Street, St. Peter’s from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be 11 am Friday from St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, St. Peters, with Father Dennis Lamey officiating. Internment is the Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richmond Villa Recreation Department. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
