SAMPSON, Theodore Keats – 83, of Sampsonville, Richmond Co. passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, surrounded by his family. He was the youngest son of Peter Henry and Margaret (Sampson) Sampson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen (Carter), daughters, Marlene (Conrad), Judy (Blair), Kelly (Chris), Colleen (Paul), Bertha (Richard), sons, Gerald (Heather), Gerard (Pamela), grandchildren, Chad, Theo, Jennifer, Robyn, Ally, Nicola, Courtney, Alex, Ellen, Jessica, Jenna, Ryan, Meghan, Thomas, Tyler, Trent, Lacy, Turner, Lesa, Trevor, Holly, Jeremy, Haley, Grant, as well as eight great-grandchildren, sister, Lila Carter. Dad sailed the Great Lakes, where he reached the designation of 2nd engineer. He was employed for a number of years at Morrison’s Store in St. Peter’s. He worked construction as well as Mechanic work for many years. He worked for Halifax Shipyard until he retired at the age of 64. Dad was a loving husband, father and Papa. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love and accomplishment of his life. His home was always a loving and welcoming place to friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Dad will rest in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 26 Cenntenial St., St. Peter’s, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, with Father Dennis Lamey officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Activity Dept of Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
