SAMPSON, Agatha Elizabeth "Sis" – 76, Little Dover, Guysborough Co. passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Little Dover, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Bouchie) Rhynold. Along with working at the fish plant in Canso for many years, "Sis", was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover, where she enjoyed many nights of playing bingo. "Sis" also enjoyed evenings of playing cards with family and friends, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she will be sadly missed by.
Surviving are her husband, Colin; children, Della Sampson (Darryl Casey), Little Dover; Tracey (Tobi), Waterville; Lori Ann (Mark) Doyle, Little Dover; sisters, Faustina (late Robert Horne); Maude (late Kenneth Gray); Pearl (James) Rhynold; brothers, Lewis "Bud" (Marie Horne), Melvin "Bubsey" (Shelia), Greg (Jenny); grandchildren, Lacey Sampson, Haley Doyle, Riley Casey, Logan Doyle, Pia Sampson, Ava Sampson, along with an extended family of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Winnifred "Winnie", brothers, Herb and Paul.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday September 29 and 2-9 p.m. Friday September 30, in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral Mass will be held 11a.m. Saturday, October 1, from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, or St. Agnes Church Cemetery Fund.
