Margaret Richard, 87, River Bourgeois, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in River Bourgeois, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Mary Emma (Landry) Digout. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Parish and the CWL, River Bourgeois.
Surviving are daughters, Elaine Burke, St. Peter's; Veronica (Gary) Teed, Claire (Pat) Lovett, both of Halifax; Louise (Norman) LeBlanc, Maxine (David) Fraser, both of St. Peter's; sister, Germaine (Simon) Carter, River Bourgeois; brothers, Charlie Digout, River Bourgeois; Vincent (Marie) Digout, Ferd (Norma) Digout, Marshall (Eileen) Digout, all of Brantford, Ont.; George (Sharon) Digout, Stan (Marge) Digout, both of River Bourgeois; grandchildren, Claudine Burke, Lisette (Kenzie) MacDonald, Cory (Tracy) Teed, Stephanie Morrison, Alicia Lovett, Derek (Johnann) LeBlanc, Vanessa, Adrian, Ainsley, Joella, Katrina and Erica Fraser; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Christian MacDonald, Jenna Teed, Grace Morrison, Josée and Jeanne LeBlanc; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; grandson, Dale LeBlanc; brothers, Fred and Tatoo.
Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Friday, January 23, in River Bourgeois Community Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Father Reg Currie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to the St. Martha's Hospital Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division.
