Watts, Laughlin George "LG" – age 79, of Port Hood, Inverness Co., passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born at home on July 21, 1935, to the late Albro and Katie (MacLean) Watts, LG was a lifelong resident of Port Hood. He first worked for NS Power and the NS Department of Highways and later maintained a small trucking business in the local area. He was also a farmer and a fisherman, in partnership first with his father and brother and in later years with his sons. He was mechanically inclined and could fix and build almost anything, to the delight of the kids on both sides of the road at the end of Marble Hill! He is survived by his sons, Wilfred and Brennan, both of Port Hood; brother, Robbie Watts (Betty), Port Hood, (nieces, Joanne and Roberta, nephew, Hugh (Sarah)); sister-in-law, Annette MacLean (Raymond), Sydney (nieces, Jennifer, Kenna); sister-in-law, Rose MacKinnon (Adrian), Alberta (nieces, Jennifer, Shannon (Ken), Kim). He was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette (Burke) and his son, Hadley. Visitation for the late LG Watts will be held Monday, January 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Port Hood and Area Resting Place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Hood on Tuesday, January 27 at 10 a.m., Father Vincent van Zutphen officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital Foundation.
