TIMMONS, Jessie "Florence" - 64, Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born February 1, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Jenny (Dorton) Ryan. She is survived by daughters, Crystal (Walter), Port Hawkesbury; Verna (John Hector), Melinda (Raymond), both of Inverness; sons, Patrick (Kelly), Lloyd, Julian (Patricia), all of Port Hawkesbury; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret McNamara, Halifax; Janet (Larry) Burton, Aulds Cove; Frances (Peter) Ryan, Port Hawkesbury; and Verna (Malcolm) Phillips, Margaree Centre. She was predeceased by her husband, Elva Timmons; grandsons, C.J. and Chaise Timmons; sister, Louise Ryan; brothers, Joseph, Howard, Thomas and Anthony Ryan. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. today, with vigil service at 8:30 p.m., both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. At Florence's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation to take place after visitation. Burial at a later date. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
