MacAULAY, William Duncan 'Willie' - 78, Whycocomagh, died Monday, December 5, 2005, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Aberdeen, Inverness Co., he was a son of the late Harry and Clara (Hampton) MacAulay. In his earlier years, Willie was involved in the trucking industry and then owned and operated a service station in Whycocomagh for 42 years. He was a member of the Retail Gasoline Dealers Association and a former member of Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department and Whycocomagh Lions Club. He was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh and also an avid Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence 'Tootsie' MacInnis; daughter, Heather, Timberlea; sons, Bruce (Melanie), Tantallon; Curtis (Connie), Aberdeen; Dale (Eileen), Whycocomagh; grandchildren, Chrystal, Karen, Kelly, Breann, Ryan, Shelby, Jane. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Gillis; brothers, John MacAulay, Cameron Matheson, and Murdock Matheson. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Stewart United Church, Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery. Donations in memory of Willie may be made to Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department or Stewart United Church.
