GEORGE, Abraham Marvin – 80, Truro Heights, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Upper Whitehead, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Abraham C. and Margaret Ann (Grover) George. Abraham was a self-employed fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Edith (Fisher), Truro Heights; daughter, Peggy (Paul) Mayhew, Cambridge, Ont.; sisters, Jeanette and Adeline, both of Truro; brothers, Paul (Linda), Queensport; Phillip, Antigonish; grandchildren, Cory George, Tanya Lewis (Brett), Travis Mayhew, all of Ontario; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Harvey, Edward, Allan, Seymour, Percy and Ira; sisters, Juanita, Velma and Winnie. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday from Christ Anglican Church, Queensport, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Christ Anglican Church, Queensport or to a charity of one’s choice.
