MARKEY, Aaron Burton - 82, Canso, formerly of St. Andrew's N.B., died at home on Monday, February 23, 2004. Born in St. Stephen, N.B., he was a son of the late George and Edith (Spires) Markey. He was a lobster buyer for Connolly's Lobster Fisheries, carpet layer for Tompkin's Furniture Store Ltd., and a retired employee of the Algonquin Hotel, St. Andrew's, N.B. He enjoyed playing cribbage, the outdoors and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Aaron was a peaceful, gentle, loving husband, father and uncle. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Alice (Kavanagh) Markey; daughter, Susan Markey, Fergus, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Frankie; sister, Alice. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Friday in Star Of The Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to Star Of The Sea Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
