WORTH (Bowie) (Hall) (Bennett), Cynthia Margaret - 77 Boylston died Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at home. Cynthia was born on New Year's Day 1929, in Bristol, England, to Leslie and Audrey (Glover) Bennett.
She attended Redland High School for Girls, assisted her father in magician’s performances to the Second World War troops in the early 1940s, and married Dr. Kenneth Arthur Hall in 1952. Cynthia immigrated to Nova Scotia with her husband and young family in October 1965. She bravely embraced her new life and made many friends. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Guysborough, a former member of the Guysborough and Area Garden Club, a member of the Guysborough Hospital Auxiliary and the Guysborough Liberal Association. Cynthia enjoyed curling for many years, loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, and thoroughly enjoyed her flower gardens. She was employed for many years as secretary at the Guysborough Municipal High School, and later for the Municipal School Board Office. She later performed administrative support at Guysborough Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her four children, Stephanie Hall (John), New Glasgow; Philip Hall (Anita), Roachvale; Dr. Alison (Hal) Wright, Georgia, U.S.A.; Louise Hall, Antigonish; grandchildren, Chelsie Hall, Halifax; Lindsey Hall, Antigonish; Richard and Geoffrey Wright, Georgia, U.S.A.; niece, Emily Bennett, France. Also surviving are the Worth stepchildren, Bonnie Grant, Dawn Grant, Shirley Currie, Beverley Simpson, Debbie Bowles, Sandy Worth, Bobby Worth, and Doug Worth; several stepgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by her former husbands, Dr. Kenneth A. Hall, Kenneth Bowie, and William E. Worth; brother, Geoffrey Bennett (Anna), in 2004; stepdaughter, Phyllis Frazier.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Wesley United Church, Guysborough, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Reception to follow in the church basement. Burial will be at a later date. Donations in memory of Cynthia may be made to the Guysborough Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of choice.
Cynthia’s last days were spent quietly at home under the loving care of her daughter, Louise. Always Mom, always remembered and now at peace.
