Obituary of Hartley Stramburg Hendsbee

Hartley Stramburg Hendsbee, Half Island Cove, NS, 83 passed away peacefully at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, palliative care unit on Sunday, December 11, 2022 with his wife of 60 years and three children, and one grandson by his side.

Born in Half Island Cove. Hartley is survived by his wife, Dale Arlene Elizabeth (Winters); his three children, Rodney (Ella Mae), Ostrea Lake; Lori (Wallace); Half Island Cove; and Melanie (Arthur); Upper Whitehead; Grandchildren, Nicolas (Haley), Jeshua (Emily) and Michael and great grandchildren Gemma, Monty and soon to be born, Eleanor. He was pre deceased by his parents, Jack and Chelsie Hendsbee, siblings, Lindsay (Shirley); Annie (James). He is also survived by close family friends, Flloyd (Sue) Hicken and Havelock (Zelda) Hendsbee and many nieces, nephew's, cousins and friends.

His family would like to express there gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso NS and Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Guysborough NS and a special thank you to the palliative care unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Cape Breton, NS.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 7th at 2 PM at the Canso Christian Center, Canso NS. Storm date will be the following Saturday. After the service, we invite you to stay and fellowship with us and luncheon. Committal service will be held at a later date in the spring.
