Obituary of Isabel Bridget Munroe

MUNROE, Isabel Bridget - Age 93, Little Dover, Guysborough Co., passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Canso Seaside Manor. Born in Little Dover, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna Sampson. 

Isabel loved cooking and baking as well as knitting. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and gardening with Brian. You never left her place hungry, even the milkman couldn't leave without having his supper. Above all she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. Everyone thought the world of her.

The family at this time would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the Canso Seaside Manor for their kindness and care to Isabel over the last 6 years. 

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Bernice Munroe, Little Dover; grandchildren, Glenn, April and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Grace; sister, Florence Casey, Little Dover; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lauchie Munroe; son, Brian Munroe; brother, Ernie.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Monday from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Jonathan Nnaijifor officiating. Burial ata later date in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery, Little Dover. A reception will follow in the Little Dover Hall. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
