Obituary of Hubert Joseph Gould, Sr.

Hubert Joseph Gould, was born in New Glasgow on October 25th 1943, and died peacefully on January 2nd 2023, at the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Peter Gould and Mary Gould. He was a member of We’koma’q First Nation and a survivor of Shubenacadie Residential School. Hubert married his beloved wife of 53 years, who is also a survivor of Shubenacadie Residential School, Sylvia Gould.
Hubert would work various jobs throughout his life, some would include putting his builder license to work and also becoming a meat cutter for 16 years. Hubert had a passion for welding and would work on many projects at home and he loved helping those in need, such as donating blood to various children's hospitals. Hubert was a very friendly, charismatic and outgoing man. He loved and enjoyed hunting in Hunters Mountain, building projects, meeting new people and getting his morning coffee everyday. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile that could light up the room, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Hubert was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gould; his children, Tina Bernard (Gould), Troy Gould, Hubert Gould Jr, Elliot Gould, Crystal Gould and Clint Gould; daughter in-law, Loretta Gould, Aundree Gould; son in-law, Leonard Bernard; loving family members, Maggie Wilkinson, Kim Anne Paul; godchild, Henry Marshall; his loving dog, snoopy; and his 36 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hubert was predeceased by his parents, Mary Gould and Peter Gould; siblings, Lloyd Gould, Rodrick Gould (Roddy), Barbra Gould; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Join us in celebrating his life with a sacred fire that will be ongoing for 4 days. Feel free to drop from Thursday 3pm, January 5th 2023 to Sunday, January 8th 2023, at his home 9177 TCH 105, Whycocomagh, NS. Drinks and food will be provided.
