As one of Laurie‘s younger cousins, I didn’t get to know him as well as some of my other cousins, but I’m glad for the things that I read about him in this book and online posts. My mother also shared kind memories of Laurie, when I spoke with her recently.
As I pondered his passing on Easter morning, it’s a wonderful reminder that Jesus Christ was the first to be resurrected from the dead, thus making it so all will be resurrected.
During his mortal ministry, Jesus taught us by word and deed to serve others and love one another. It appears that Laurie strived to live by those teachings and examples.
May Laurie’s mansion in heaven be filled with those he served and loved in this life.

I met Laurie through Strait Area Ground Search & Rescue / Winter Survival Courses - He was such a 'giving soul, he would always got those extra miles for anyone', & would always do what ever he could - his laughter & jokes were always ready!
Laurie - you will always be remembered for your generosity - as well as your out-going & out-standing personality!

Phyllis, Laurie, Lloyd and I had a blast at the Canadian Tire Christmas parties at the Civic center. We used to take turns dancing with each other. We had lots of laughs and enjoyed each other's company. I miss them days. Laurie will be missed by many!!

What a kind and loving person you were Laurie, and I don't think I've ever met someone as humble as you.
I'm glad I got to see you and hear you sing again a couple of years ago. That was a very special time.
You gave me my very first camera when I was a teenager, and I still have it. I've always treasured it.

I taught Laurie in the one room school in Creignish Rear, along with some of his siblings. He was a very pleasant, happy go lucky boy. Our sympathy goes out to all the family. Laurie will sadly be missed, he was a kind person that would do anything for anybody. He always went above and beyond no matter what it was. He loved playing his guitar and singing for the nursing homes and get togethers. He loved to see people happy and always had a smile for them. A big part of the family will be missing, but will remain in our hearts forever. Sorry we can not attend the services, but please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I am sure there were many trips when he wished we were on our way home but he never complained. We had many laughs and good times .
