Obituary of Wayne MacKinnon
Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Patrick "Wayne" MacKinnon, aged 56, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough, NS.
Wayne was born June 16, 1966 to the late Michael T. MacKinnon and Mary Jeanette (Jean Brophy).
Wayne will be deeply missed by his loving mom and siblings: James MacKinnon (Maxine), Robert MacKinnon (Marilyn), Dianne MacNeil, Janet Grady (daughter Victoria) and Karen Druken (Stephen). He was predeceased by his father and his brother-in-law Brian MacNeil.
Wayne was a loving son and brother. He lived quietly and enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed the arrival of his nieces and nephews, whenever they could visit and he had a great love for the outdoors. Wayne could often be seen driving his snowmobile and ATV through the trails in the woods. He had a love for animals, music (especially Johnny Cash) and often enjoyed sitting on the swing in his yard overlooking the Strait of Canso. We loved his shy laugh and our hearts are broken that he was taken from us too soon.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 24th at 11 a.m. from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial at a later date.
A special thank you goes out to the staff and caretakers of Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Dr. Ranjini and Dr. Gallivan for their years of care.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
