Obituary of Dale Munroe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Dale Munroe of Havre Boucher, NS on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Dale was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Havre Boucher, he was the son of the late Randolph (Rennie) and Rita Munroe.

Dale was passionate about fishing, whether for work or with friends. He would tell you that he was a "jack of all trades and master of none" and was always willing to help anyone in need. Dale started his career as a process operator with Gulf Oil, worked at Syncrude in Alberta and then returned home to work at Statia Terminals. He ended his career at Ocean Nutrition due to the illness that took him from us.

Besides his loving wife of 26 years Cathy (Greencorn), he is survived by his children Joanne (Tom) Munroe, Wallaceburg, Ontario; Melissa (Greg) Hadley, Mulgrave; Joe (Jenna) Munroe, Dowling, Ontario and Christine (Kyle) Paupst, Nipawin, Saskatchewan; his grandchildren Victoria, Trent, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Thomas, Joshua, Addelyn, Bryson, Lydia and Aubree; special great grandson, Jayce; his brother Clem and sister Cheryl (Brian) Rutherford; brothers-in-law Lorne, Donnie and Eldon (Wendy); and mother-in-law Ethel. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Donna and his infant twin brother.

A big thank you to Dr. Emily Rice and the VON nurses who came and provided him with compassionate care over the last couple months. Donations in Dale's memory can be made to the Palliative Care Department at St. Martha's Regional Hospital or the Havre Boucher Fire Department.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Monday, May 22 in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday from St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher with Father Allan MacPhie officiating.
