My sincere sympathies to your family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Isabel in person. We became Facebook friends by a chance encounter while playing a game. It turned out that my family is from the same area. Isabel knew many of my family members. I will always think of her when I look at my wall of family photographs. Isabel was kind enough to send me Nova Scotia tartan ribbon which she purchased from The 5 to a Dollar in Antigonish.

I would like to add that I worked with Air Liquide during the 80s and had pleasant memories of Isabel's work ethics. She knew the product that she was selling and how to sell it. I was so impressed with her ability to rattle off part numbers of everything that she had in stock.

My cousin Isabel was a stylish great lady, who loved exploring the World and giving back to her community.
I remember waiting many evenings for her on the post office steps in Mulgrave after my sporting practices or games after high school was out, she would pick me up there on her way home from work and take me home. Down the shore road we went, I always like to hear of the trips she went on and where she was heading to next. She sure did love to travel and I admired that. She worked hard so she could do the things she loved to do.
Isabel looked way younger then she was and I still wonder what her secret was…. Maybe it was her loving and giving heart.

Dear Laurie and Family,
It was with much sadness that I learned of Your Mom's passing. Having grown up along The Shore Road, attending the same primary and secondary schools as You, the occasional Seven Communities Volunteer Fire Hall function, and frequent visits with Your Mom's Middle Melford neighbour, my step-grandmother Viola, Your Mom was a common community component of my life on the Shore Road. She always presented herself with pleasant confidence and enlightened any room she shared with others.
It is hoped that You and Your family were able to spend as much time as desired with Your Mom as she grew ever closer to the shadowed doorway that leads to the next stage of her journey. Hopefully tales were told and stories shared of a lifetime of experiences and adventures that helped shape Isabel into the Woman, Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin and Community Friend to Many that she was.
May You and Your Family draw strength from each other and from Your friends and community as You prepare to bid "so long for now" to Your Mom. May the next days, weeks, months, and years be shaped by the memories that Isabel has left with everyone who had the good fortune to share in her presence. Laugh when You can, cry when You must, and know that we are all better people for having shared this world with Your Mom. May she rest in peace knowing that her jobs were well done and here legacy assured. God bless.
