i met Ted a few times at legion zone meetings. i enjoyed him, telling me about his pass. i loved hearing about his homeland before coming to Canada. He was a good person and a true legion member. always concerned about others. i admired his passion for legion members, his love of family, his never-ending care for, Canada as he expressed true meaning to his family friends and country. i was proud to meet him sadly he is gone but will never be forgotten.

Marina & family, I send my sincere condolences. I often see you at Mass at St. Joseph's in Port Hawkesbury that I feel I know you, just as I feel I knew your father from often seeing pictures and articles in the papers about him. Though he reached a wonderful age, your father's death is such a loss for Veterans and the community.

To the Martens Family:
Please accept my sincere sympathy on the death of your Dad.
Ever since I joined the Royal Canadian Legion in 2008 I had a deep respect for Comrade Ted and always enjoyed being in his company and hearing his thoughts and ideas on where the Legion was headed.
His passion for the plight of veterans was always in the forefront of his thoughts and he expressed them in a forceful and articulate manner.
He always had a deep respect for all members of the Legion but the last time I heard him speak he was cognizant of the fact that the Legion would have a difficult time surviving in its present form without the Associate Members.
The Royal Canadian Legion & especially the veterans lost a great champion.
May he R.I.P.
Comrade John MacInnis
