Obituary of Jacqueline Bernice Nock
We, the family of Jacqueline “Jackie” Nock, age 58, regret to announce her passing on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Jackie was predeceased in death by her twin daughters, Katrina and Brieanna (in infancy), her mother; Catherine “Kaye”, father; Dan N. “Bubby” Shaw, grandparents; William Nock and Alex and Mary Shaw along with her grandmother; Katherine Nock and Auntie; Irene MacPherson, whom she lived with most of her life along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jackie is survived by her sisters; Doreen (Lee) Norman and their children, Daniel (Alix) and their son Archer, Katelyn and Andrew, Margo (Kevin) MacKenzie and their children Colton, Blaze, Dalton and Baylee. She is also survived by her brothers; Sam (Lynne) Rouse, their children Aidan and Sophie and Robert (Charlene) Rouse. She also leaves behind her “sista” Ruth MacLaren, longtime friend, Joe Livingstone, her Bingo buddies Cathy and Marg and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Above all else Jackie loved her nephews and nieces very much, they were her “kids”. She would tell everyone she had the opportunity to talk to about all the wonderful things her kids did and how much she loved them. She took them on drives, showed them how to fish, played games and cards, read books, made scoffs and the best tea and bread snacks ever. For many years, Jackie worked at the Strathlorne Forest Nursery and enjoyed her job and made many friendships along the way but had to retire early due to health issues.
A Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 30 at Stewartdale Cemetery with Margie MacIntyre, LLWL officiating. A luncheon will be held at the Whycocomagh Firehall following the burial.
Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
