Martin Basil Bouchie
Little Dover, Guysborough County.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Basil Bouchie age 86 of Little Dover on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
Born in Little Dover on February 6, 1937, he was a son of the late Howard and Aleta (Newell) Bouchie and a member of St. Agnes Parish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Valeria (Munroe); daughter, Jacqueline Ann (Charles Ryan), Hazel Hill. He is also survived by his sisters, Emily (Howard), Joyce, Susan, Colleen (Kevin); brother, Bobby. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Evie, Hilda, Ethel, Bud and Roger.
He was a fisherman from the age of 15 until his retirement and was very proud of it. He loved being in his shed working with wood and created many projects some of which he displayed in his yard. He also never missed his daily visits with his friends.
Dad, I can’t promise I will avoid every bump or hole with your car, but I will try.
At this time, I would like to thank the nurses, Dr. Milburn and Dr. Wilson at Eastern Memorial Hospital for your kindness and care we received during his stay.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12 from 9-10:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Parish Hall, Little Dover and from where the funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Following the burial a reception will be held in the parish hall.
