Delaney (Parrott), Frances Christina – 71 – Half Island Cove
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Frances passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Martha’s Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Frances was born in Harbour Breton, NL on Sept. 16, 1952, to the late Martin and Annie Jane Parrott.
Frances was employed at the Canso Fish Plant from the time she moved to Nova Scotia until it closed. Then obtaining her CCA and then obtained employment at the Milford Haven Home of Special Care until she retired in 2016.
Frances is survived by her husband of 49 years Henry; son Joey (Deanna) of Beaverbank, NS; daughter Amy (Brian Leal) of Halifax; granddaughters, Hailee and Zoey Delaney; sister Bernadette Casey of Hr. Breton, NL and brothers Marty (Sherry) of Antigonish, NS, Gerald (Delia) of Hr. Breton, NL and Brian (Tracy) of Beaverbank, NS; brother-in-law Bernard (Betty) of Hr. Breton, NL; sister-in-law Maggie of Antigonish, NS as well as many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by son Corey; parents in law Clarence and Mamie Delaney; sister Mary Harris (Joe); sister-in-law Theresa George; brother-in-law Anthony Casey and great-niece Ashley Molloy.
As per Frances request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 24th, 2023, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Queensport, NS at 11:00 am with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial at a later date. Reception to follow service at the Queensport Fire Hall.
As per family’s request, family flowers only. Any donations can be made to the Holy Redeemer Convent Sydney, NS, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Frances family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS and St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, NS and a special thank you to the Holy Redeemer Convent in Sydney, NS for all of their love and support.
