Marven Ambrose Ehler

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Marven Ambrose Ehler age 87 of Mulgrave, NS on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley (England) Ehler and family.
Born in Queensport, NS on December 31, 1935. He was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Hattie (Greencorn) Ehler.
Left to mourn is his beloved wife, Shirley; children, David (Doris), Vancouver, BC; Marty (Laura), Fort McMurray, AB; Kevin (Erin) and Terry (Leanne), Mulgrave, NS; step-daughter, Crissy, Boylston, NS and foster son, Wayne, Antigonish, NS; grandchildren, Kelsey, Haley, Brooklyn, Myah, Abby, Cole, Jack; step-grandchildren, Shaelyn, William and Jewleye; brothers, Harold, Robert, Willard, sisters; Dot, Leona, Marion and Annabel.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Eugene, Paul, Pat, Onslow, Marie and Eunice (in infancy) and his aunt, Mildred Benoit who raised him.
Marven retired at the young age of 80 after serving over 20 years with the Town of Mulgrave – he was the best plow operator in town!
Of many things, Marven loved playing his guitar, listening to old country music, late night wrestling and spending lots of time in the woods and at the camp with his boys and two best friends - his Pomeranians, Barry and Casey.
Marvens family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cooper, Dr. Gallivan, the nursing and homecare team, especially Tara, the nurse on the palliative care unit at St. Martha’s, who were very special to him.
Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation as per Marvens wishes. A celebration of life will take place at the Ehler family home at 627 Main Street, Mulgrave on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 1 – 5 p.m.
Donations in memory of Marven may be made to St. Martha’s Palliative Care Unit. Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
