Obituary of Leona Mae Greencorn

Leona Mae Greencorn 

Canso, Guysborough Co.

November 2, 1963 - December 15, 2023

It is with much sadness that the family announce the passing of Leona Mae Greencorn on Friday, December 15, 2023.

Survived by her children, Sheldon (Mandi) and Rayanne; her grandchildren, Nova, Haven, Nash, and Finnlea; her parents, Howard and Shirley; and her sisters, Mary (Manford), Della (Frank), and Shirley (Dave), and many nieces and nephews. Leona was predeceased by her brother, Laurier.

Those who knew Leona the most, knew she secretly loved being tormented by her son, Sheldon and daughter-in-law Mandi, chatting about everything and anything with her daughter, Rayanne, watching scary movies and funny videos together with her grandchildren, Nova, Haven, Nash and Finnlea, having a cup of tea and spending time with her mom and dad, and going for road trips out of town with her best friend.

She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with those she loved, going on many new adventures such as her Cabot Trail trip and playing games on her phone or tablet. She killed Candy Crush!! And, man, did she love chewing ice!!

In the last few months that Leona was with us, she spent many nights laughing and making new friends with the hall ladies who she loved very much.

Leona will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will always be in our hearts.

The family will be holding a Church service in the Anglican Parish of All Saints by the Sea Church, Canso at 11a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, with Vonda Card officiating. A Celebration of Life wil follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Canso.
