MacLeod, Angus Mark – Port Hawkesbury. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Angus Mark MacLeod of Port Hawkesbury. Mark was born on October 7, 1970, to Hugh A. and the late Mary MacLeod (MacLellan).
He started school in Port Hastings where his lifelong passion for music started. He and his good friend Leon started a band where they played at the school concert to a packed audience of parents. He continued his passion into his teenage years, buying and listening to all the classic rock albums and learning to play the songs by ear. And if Mark picked your name at Christmas, you could be sure you were getting an album. Mark continued to collect guitars and practice all his life. His paying careers started at MacMotors with his dad. He went on different paths from scuba diving to working out west doing various jobs. He came home in 2015 to be closer to family.
He is survived by his father, Hugh A. MacLeod; sisters, Paula (Angus) MacDougall, Hughina (John) MacDougall and Heather (Rodney) MacLeod; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Agnes (MacLellan) MacLeod and his beloved sister, Charlene Edwards.
There will be no service at this time. A family burial and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Mark, please consider the Port Hawkesbury Food Bank or the Canadian Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com.
